The Sound and The Fury
Unsolicited Formula 1 Posters #posterdesign #art
When you’ve witnessed the fury with which Formula 1 cars travel -- the sudden stops, the screaming engines -- their organic nature is undeniable. Yes, the cars are the product of hours and hours of work, millions of dollars of lab research, the brightest minds, computer-aided design and an entire circus of data points which often play toward the clinical nature of the sport. But make no mistake, the cars when at full tilt, are living breathing beasts. Computers don’t drive the car.

My first time ever hearing an F1 car as I walked the promenade to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve (Montreal, Canada) the thunderous roar seemed to bounce off of the sky it was so loud. The cars dove into the hairpin turn on the backside of the track and turned so quickly. It’s that organic nature that I yearn for in a modern F1 poster. A concept that hearkens to the past when the artist visibly wanted to convey the speed and dramatically present the close racing. And so I present to you, dear reader, Formula 1 posters concepts and art.
